FCPS has many resources for families designed to increase engagement and partnerships with families while fostering academic success and social-emotional growth. The Family Resource Center offers free webinars, confidential consultations, a lending library, and resources to help adults support the success of all students, including those with learning challenges, special needs, and disabilities.The new FCPS Family Academy is a targeted outreach effort to empower and build capacity, connections, cognition, confidence, and awareness through interactive learning experiences, tools, and resources for families in FCPS through a one-stop approach.

Depression in Teens January 24, 2025 10-11:30 a.m.
Practitioners will discuss the prevalence of major depressive disorder and how to identify depression in teenagers. In addition to understanding brain-based depression in teenagers, elements of recovery and strategies for treatment and strategies for Families to support families. Register Here

Academic Support
FCPS students have unlimited access, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to online tutoring support services through Varsity Tutors at no cost to families. Students can connect online any time, any place, and in most K-12 subjects for however long they need.

Collage Dance Collective presents “RISE”
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration Saturday, Jan. 18, 7 p.m.
“RISE”, choreographed by company Co-Founder and Artistic Director Kevin Thomas, is inspired by the words of civil rights leader and pioneer, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s final speech, “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop,” which was delivered at the Mason Temple in Memphis, Tenn. on April 3, 1968.

Sweetheart Parent & Child Dance
Friday, Feb. 7, 7-9 p.m. Admission: $20 per person
For children ages 2 and up. Children are invited to come to MCC for a fancy “date” with their parents or guardians. For all ages. Featured activities included a photo booth, a DJ playing your favorite tunes, craft projects and light refreshments. Create lasting memories by joining us!
