Good afternoon, KJMS Families,
As we approach the winter break, we want to take a moment to extend our warmest wishes to all students, staff, and families. We are incredibly grateful for the dedication and support that each of you brings to our community. We hope you enjoy a well-deserved winter break filled with rest, joy, and time spent with loved ones. May this holiday season bring you peace, happiness, and a fresh start for the year ahead.
This past Saturday, KJMS hosted the first ever NAQT middle school QuizBowl Tournament for Fairfax county. Twenty-four teams competed; some near and some from far. Teams from Fairfax included Longfellow, Cooper, and Robinson. KJMS had five teams play in the tournament. Notably, Sauren K. was top point scorer for the entire tournament. For many of our students, this was their first time officially competing. We had amazing parent and staff participation in this event to help make this possible, which is why KJMS is such a special school.
Happy Holidays and a wonderful Winter Break to all!
Chris Smith

We are deeply touched by the overwhelming generosity shown by our parents during our December charity event. The incredible response to the gift card raffle for our teachers and faculty was a testament to the kindness and appreciation within our school community.
We were also able to donate many toys, animal items, and canned items to our local charities because of you all! We collected so many items that we have continue to drop items of at local charities.
Knowing we have such a supportive community makes a profound difference in the lives of our students and educators. Thank you for your compassion and for making this holiday season even more special.
Happy Holidays!

Our Performing Arts Department held their annual winter showcase. A big thank you to our chorus, orchestra, band, and theatre arts department, for putting this together and giving students a preview of their department’s talents! Our principal, Mr. Smith, even joined in on the festivities and performed on stage with our orchestra students. A portion of our student body were able to view the performance from the auditorium, while others watched from a livestream. Additionally, some of our future eagles from Daniels Run Pre-k class joined us to watch our performers. Many thanks for all the winter cheer this brought to our faces.

Thank you to our PTA for treating our faculty to a "Cup of Cheer!" They provided all the fixings in the cup for a great cup of hot chocolate.
Your support and partnership are truly appreciated!
