Roadrunner Rundown
December 16, 2024
Principal's Message
Dear Marshall Road Families,
Winter Break starts this Friday (in case you were not aware 😊), and we would like to wish all of you a wonderful break. As mentioned at Thanksgiving, we take these opportunities to remind our staff at each long break the need to give our students (and themselves) a respite from schoolwork during the holiday. No staff will assign homework, projects, essays, etc. to be specifically done over the break (some grades may have assignments that have started and will be completed after the break).
We all need the opportunity to spend time with our families and friends. Our goal is to have students and teachers return to enjoy the break without the pressure of looming deadlines. This is a unified message that Madison pyramid principals send to all our communities.
Our school office will be closed the entire Winter Break, December 23-January 3.
We wish you a wonderful time together with family and friends! See you next year!

Lost & Found
Our Lost & Found has grown over the past several weeks as the weather fluctuates from day to day. Please label your child’s belongings so they can be returned when found and check the Lost & Found this week so you have all of your items before the Winter Break.
Attendance Matters
Thank you for working with us to make attendance a priority in 2024. We have made significant improvements to our school wide rate of chronic absenteeism. We look forward to 2025 as we continue to strive to have great attendance!

PTA Update
Holiday Gifts/Class Gifts for Teachers and Staff
This is the time of year when many families like to show their appreciation to the incredible MRES staff and there are many different ways to thank the staff. As in previous years, we are giving families the option to participate in GiftCrowd. Click here to leave a gift and note for any staff member that has made a difference to your family.
New this year, we have created teams for some staff members who might not always be in the spotlight; so please consider contributing to those as well. Members in each team can be found here. These gifts will be automatically split evenly between the members in the group as soon as the gift collection ends. Recipients will be able to see the list of participants and their messages but not the individual contribution amounts. Please note that the minimum contribution is $2 and contributions are not visible to the recipient. Staff members will be able to redeem their gifts for one or more gift cards including Amazon, Target, Walmart, or hundreds of others. The gifts collection ends on 12/20/2024 7:00 AM ET. At that time, the gifts will be sent to their respective recipients. Questions? Email Monica at president@marshallroadpta.org.
