We are thrilled to announce an exciting partnership with Jostens Renaissance Education as part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen Westbriar’s vision, enhance student recognition, foster collaboration, and build meaningful connections within our community.
To make sure we’re meeting the needs of our students, families, and staff, we need your voice! Please take a few moments to complete our anonymous survey, which will go directly to Jostens Renaissance. They will analyze the responses to identify key themes and insights. Once the data is reviewed, we’ll report back to you on the results and the steps we’ll take moving forward.
Your input matters! By sharing your perspective, you’re helping us create an even more positive and supportive environment for our students to thrive.
👉 Shaping the Future of Westbriar
Thank you for being an integral part of our Falcon Family and for supporting our efforts to make Westbriar the best it can be. Together, we’re soaring to new heights!
Creative Writing
Students write stories with multi-dimensional characters, zany plots, and settings inspired by science fiction, fantasy, history, and reality. Each class is run by lead teachers and experienced teaching assistants. This way, students are able to brainstorm, share ideas, write, and revise in small groups. Each child gets personalized feedback in a supportive, constructive way. With very low student-teacher ratios, students will have fun and hone their writing skills (shhhh - don’t tell them about that last part).

During that time, students are encouraged to log onto the FCPS Family Math website to engage in math activities with their families at home that include stories with mathematical concepts connected to a variety of different math games from around the world. All activities are available in English and Spanish.
To learn more about Family Math Nights, check out this video. We hope that all schools will help spread the word and work collaboratively to help us reach our goal of logging on for three million minutes as an FCPS community.
