Dear Brookfield Family,
This week, I was fortunate to join alongside Chantilly Pyramid Principals for a three-day professional development conference. We had the opportunity to attend various learning sessions and hear from passionate and inspiring keynote speakers. As I selected the sessions in which I wanted to attend, I felt passionate about digging deeper into strategies around continuing to strengthen our school community partnership.
I recognize that the week brought us some unexpected events. As always, Brookfield and FCPS had plans and protocols in place to ensure student safety. I want to commend our staff for their swift response and commitment to our students' well-being. The power of teams was evident as our staff worked together seamlessly to ensure everyone’s safety.
I am grateful for our wonderful PTA and I am looking forward to tomorrow’s Winter Carnival. What a wonderful way to bring our Brookfield Family together and celebrate one another and the holiday season.
Also, a huge thank you to our Fresh Pack volunteers who provided a delicious breakfast for our entire staff. I am truly grateful for the love and kindness that radiates through the walls of our building each and every day. Our dedicated staff continues to provide our students with meaningful learning opportunities and gives our children a space to thrive.
We are one week away from our Winter Break, and I look forward to continuing to connect with our staff, children, and families. We have a lot to celebrate, and we also will experience some exciting changes on the horizon as we transition to the Educational Village. Please know that safety will remain a priority, and I am proud to say that we have plans in place to ensure a seamless transition for our students, staff, and families.
Please stay tuned for some dates and times where I would love to invite families in to share what might be on your hearts and minds as we head into the new year.
I am here if you have questions or concerns, and I am eager to listen and partner alongside you. Thank you for sending your best to Brookfield each day.
Sincerely,
Lesley Hassen
Principal
