Centreville Students, Families, and Community,

What an incredible first week it has been here at Centreville! I am deeply grateful for the warm welcome I’ve received from everyone as I begin my journey with the Wildcat family. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed connecting with students and staff in the hallways, observing the inspiring learning experiences in our classrooms, and witnessing the incredible talents of our students, both on the basketball court and on stage. A special thank you to Ms. Hall and the band for inviting me to serve as guest conductor for the final piece of the Winter Concert—it was truly a memorable experience.

In my conversations with students, staff, and community members, it is clear how deeply committed this community is to the success of every student. As we move forward, I believe student success will depend on our ability to work together. Through our collective efforts, we will ensure all students have access to high-quality learning experiences, build positive relationships, receive the necessary support, and actively engage with the Centreville community.

I would like to invite you to join us for the PTSA meeting on Tuesday, December 10, at 7:00 PM in the Centreville High School Library. During this meeting, I will share more about my background, my core leadership beliefs, and provide an opportunity for community members to share their perspectives on what makes Centreville so special. For more information about the meeting and how to join the PTSA, please see the details below. I look forward to engaging with you all and hearing your thoughts!

Thank you and Go Wildcats!

Dr. Erik Healey, Principal

Middle School Start Time Study: At Tuesday’s School Board work session, staff from Prismatic Services, Inc., presented options for adjusting start times at FCPS middle schools. As a reminder, Prismatic is charged with developing an action plan to help the School Board reach its goal of starting middle school at or after 8 AM.

The presentation includes five options for adjusting middle school start times based on the consultant’s analysis from community forums, surveys, and interviews with staff, parents, associations, and other groups. Some of the options would impact high school start times. The School Board will provide next steps to the superintendent. Watch a video of the work session. Visit the Middle School Start Times webpage for more information on the project.
