Do you want to review the Family Life Education (FLE) materials that your child will be hearing this year? All program materials and media for all grade levels are available for you to review at any time in your Parent Schoology account. Here are the steps that you can take at home:
- Login to your Schoology account. You can’t use your student’s account. You can find the Schoology link on the WFES website, too.
- Click on the Wakefield Forest All Parent and Guardian page.
- Click on the first folder called Parent Preview- FLE Instruction. All the lessons K-12 are listed for your to review.
If you are having trouble accessing the materials, don’t have a computer at home, or want to get out of the house, please join Ms. Williams in the library on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 6:30 PM. She will guide you through the steps to find the materials and give you time to review the material at your own pace.
**If any of the videos don’t open for you at home, please look at the links at the bottom of the parent page for alternative links that will take you to the same videos.
Students at WFES in Grade 5th and 6th are participating in pilot program where two Human Growth and Development lessons will be taught in a gender combined class this year. The rest of the lessons will be taught in single gender groups as in previous years. If you want to opt your child out of this pilot, please email the following to Ms. Williams at alwilliams1@fcps.edu
I would like to opt my child, ______________________, out of the FLE pilot of the two combined gender lessons. I understand that this means my child will have all the FLE lessons taught in a single gender group.
If you have any questions, please ask your child’s teacher or Ms. Williams at alwilliams1@fcps.edu.

Students in grades 3-12 took the SEL Screener during the month of October, providing information on their SEL skills like achieving goals, understanding and managing emotions, establishing and maintaining relationships, and making responsible decisions. The screener also asks students how well their school community makes them feel valued, included, and supported.
Individual student SEL Screener results are now available to families in the Documents section of SIS ParentVUE. For families who do not have an active ParentVUE account, results will be sent via postal mail.
For support in understanding your individual student’s results or for ideas on how to support them at home, please review the Family Guide or reach out to your students teacher or our SEL Screener Lead Chelsea Boateng (cmboateng@fcps.edu) with any questions or concerns.
