PickUp Patrol Reminders 🚗
Attend a 30 min info session on Wednesday, December 11th at 7pm via zoom. The Watch DOGS (dads of great students) program brings males into our school to be a "hero of the hallway", assisting in arrivals, dismissal, lunch, recess, classrooms and specials. GBE is collecting local grocery store and/or local department store gift cards (Walmart, Target, Giant, Harris Teeter, Safeway, Wegmans, etc.) to help support GBE families in need.
Gift card donations can be turned into the GBE Main Office through Wednesday December 18th. If gift card donations are sent to school via students, please put them in an envelope marked "Front Office".

GBE está recolectando tarjetas de regalo de supermercados locales y/o grandes almacenes locales (Walmart, Target, Giant, Harris Teeter, Safeway, Wegmans, etc.) para ayudar a las familias necesitadas de GBE.

If you have not completed FEDERAL IMPACT AID SURVEY yet you will find a printed copy in your students’ Wednesday Folder. Please fill this out for each student in your household, whether your family is federally connected or not. FCPS asks for 100% participation in this survey. Please complete the survey even if you feel it does not apply to you by TODAY. If you prefer to complete the survey online please click here. Monday, December 9th is our third Early Release Monday. Students will be dismissed as they were for October's Early Release Monday. Any change in dismissal procedures REQUIRES principal approval by Wednesday, Dec. 4th. Please email Mr.Pietzman (djpietzman@fcps.edu) or call the front office (703-633-6400) to make any dismissal changes.
Please keep in mind, if you are picking up your child early that day, cut off time is 12:30pm or pick up after dismissal at 1:30pm. No pickups between 12:30pm to 1:30pm.
Missed our Fall Picture Day or want a retake?
We are doing retakes THIS THURSDAY, December 5th, 2024!
Any student wishing to have a retake should bring their original photo package to exchange for the retake image.
For families ordering a package, parents/guardians will receive a camera pass via email, after purchase is complete. This can be printed and brought to picture day. The photographer will photograph the printed camera pass along with the student. No worries, if you can't get it printed.
When pictures are returned to school, all students that purchased pictures will receive their prepaid package. Any student that was photographed but did not order a package, will receive a "Proof" of their picture that was taken on picture day. All proof packages offer parents a second opportunity to order prints.

Use PickUp Patrol to report absences
In emergencies, email or call the front office
This is a reminder to put your students' absence, arriving late, or leaving school early in Pickup Patrol (PUP). All default plans should be up to date. Make sure you change the default plan anytime you change your students' permanent dismissal. Emails and phone calls are no longer encouraged, except for emergencies. When you enter a change in PUP, it goes directly to your child’s teacher as well as our front office staff. Please remember to provide a reason for the absence, late arrival or early dismissal. Changes must be entered on PUP by 2:30pm each day.
