Run Fit Kidz

Fast Foxes

About 60 WSES students recently participated in the RunFit Kidz 5K race and we couldn't be prouder of them and all of their hard work in preparing for the race. Thank you COACHES for all of the early morning support and encouragement.

Way to go, Foxes!

A Note from the Principal's Desk

Dear Willow Springs families,

If you are like us, you are ready to head into the Thanksgiving holiday and long weekend spent enjoying time with family and friends and surrounded by good food and fun. We all have so much to be thankful for and for us that includes our dynamic staff, our joyful students, and our super supportive parents.

However you and your family celebrate the holidays, we send you our gratitude and sincere wishes for health and happiness.

Don't forget that school is closed on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. We will see everyone back here on Monday, December 2nd.

We hope all of you have an enjoyable and memorable weekend!

Full Time AAP Referrals

Window for Full-Time AAP Referrals Closes on December 15, 2024

Parents/guardians of students in Grades 2-7 who would like their student to be considered for Full-Time advanced academic programs may submit the AAP Full-Time Referral Form to Willow Springs’ Advance Academics Resource Teacher (AART), Ashley Raymond, no later than December 15, 2024. Please email digital paperwork to alraymond@fcps.edu.

The window for families to submit a referral for Full-Time AAP services is the first day of school through December 15, annually.  Forms for Full-Time and part-time referrals are available on the AAP Forms Page. No late referrals for Full-Time AAP services will be accepted.

Submitting a referral form for Full-Time AAP will initiate a process that begins at the local school and is then completed at the central office level. Our school will put together a portfolio that includes multiple data which are considered holistically. At the central office level, a committee of six trained professionals from various schools and roles will review the portfolio materials to determine eligibility for Full-Time placement.  Eligibility decisions are communicated by early April. Parents may request a copy of the portfolio that was submitted after they have been turned in for central selection by emailing Ashley Ramyond at

alraymond@fcps.edu.

For more information, please visit the Advanced Academic Programs website.
