Thankful for our student buddies!

Note from Dr. Sheers

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for each of you who make our school community so special. Together, we create a warm, supportive environment where our students not only learn but also grow into kind and thoughtful individuals.

This season is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the many blessings in our lives, and at the top of my list is the privilege of working alongside such dedicated students, parents, and staff. Your involvement, encouragement, and partnership play a vital role in shaping our school and ensuring our students' success.

I hope that this Thanksgiving brings you moments of joy, laughter, and connection with your loved ones. Whether you're traveling or staying close to home, may your time be filled with warmth and gratitude.

We look forward to continuing this journey together when we return from the break, refreshed and ready to embrace the rest of this school year.

Happy Thanksgiving!

News and Notes

Last week, we celebrated Inclusion Schools Week!

Throughout the week, students explored the meaning of inclusion and learned that every person deserves to be valued, respected, welcomed, and safe, no matter their differences. We celebrated our unique "superpowers" and concluded the week with an engaging event called Walk in My Shoes.

The Walk in My Shoes initiative promotes empathy, understanding, and awareness by helping students experience the challenges faced by others. Our goal is to ensure every child feels welcome, safe, and included in our community while fostering respect, acceptance, and appreciation for differences.

Students in grades 3–6 participated in hands-on stations representing various experiences:

  • ADHD (Station #1)
  • Dyslexia (Station #2)
  • Motor Processing Challenges (Station #3)
  • Food Allergies (Station #4)
  • Visual Impairments/Blindness (Station #5)
  • Deaf/Hard of Hearing (Station #6)
  • Communication Disorders (Station #7)

We extend a heartfelt thank you to our PTA and parent volunteers for making this impactful event possible!
