Roadrunner Rundown

November 18, 2024

Principal's Message

Dear Marshall Road Families,

We hope you were able to spend some time outside and enjoyed the gorgeous weather over the weekend. The mild temperatures make it hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next week. There will be no school on November 27, 28 and 29 (so we really hope to see everyone for the two days that we do have!) Enjoy this holiday with family and friends.

We will have a 3-hour early release on Monday, December 9.  Please help us plan by completing this form and sharing your plan for the remaining early releases - 12/9, 2/24, 3/17, 4/28 and  5/19.  We encourate parents/guardians to use the same dismissal plan that was previously used.  SACC will be open at 1:05 pm for those who have students enrolled in SACC.

Have a great week!

Matthew Chapman, Toni Nauflett, and Kelly Willis

School Events and Information

Attendance Matters

The attendance patterns you help your children create now, when they are young, will have a big impact on how they view the importance of school and regular attendance in the future. When students improve their attendance rates, they improve their academic prospects and chances for graduating.  Read about the research done on Preventable Failure and commit to making attendance a priority while your children are in elementary school.

Federal Impact Aid Forms

All students must return a Federal Impact Aid Form signed and dated by November 26. Parents can also complete the form online by signing into their ParentVue accounts. Thank you.

PTA Update

Runathon

Runathon - Thank you!

Thank you so much for all your enthusiasm and support for the Runathon. Besides all the fun and exercise, the Runathon helps us to come together as a community, where we all contribute to enrich our school. We raised over $46,000 with more than 60% of students participants. We will ensure every dollar helps our students, teachers, and staff throughout the year! Thank you to all the volunteers, teachers, staff, community members and sponsors for their help to make this a successful Runathon. Congratulations to Ms. Blake's class for being the top participation and donations class! Their prize is to choose a name for our bus-lane. Finally, congratulations to all our raffle and prize winners!!

The PTA will provide turkey for the meal and MRES staff will bring sides to share with one another. Contributions can be dropped off in the lobby from 8:15-10:30 am on Friday, November 22.

MRES Staff Spotlight

Mr. Al Muressi has won the PTA priority parking spot this week. Mr. Reda, as the students call him, has been working in the technology department at MRES for 4 years. The staff, the students and the environment of MRES makes him happy to be part of this excellent team! He loves to see the kids' successes. Mr. Reda speaks English, French, Arabic and Ethiopian! He enjoys soccer, watching movies, and, of course, playing video games.
