GBW Spelling Bee
This year, we're kicking off our spelling bee journey with grade-level bees using Scripp's online testing platform. To participate, register your student(s) for the online testing platform by Thanksgiving (Nov 28) at https://online-test.spellingbee.com. The online test can be completed at home between December 2-13. You must sign up your student! Winners will advance to the junior or senior school bee.
All study lists are available in Schoology under your parent account. For extra practice, download the Scripps WordClub app and use the official study lists at spellingbee.com/word-club.
All bee competitions are optional and not a part of the school curriculum. If a student is not interested, they do not have to participate.

The 3 classes with the highest percentage of membership will be announced soon and will receive a popsicle party. Joining PTA doesn’t mean you have to volunteer any or at all! ACSL Team Interest
GBW is planning to host a team for the ACSL. Read more below:
The American Computer Science League (ACSL) offers students from elementary to high school the opportunity to learn and compete in computer science and programming. It covers various topics, including algorithms, data structures, digital electronics, and computer programming concepts. ACSL competitions are divided into different divisions based on grade level and skill, providing challenges suitable for all levels. Participating in ACSL helps students enhance their problem-solving skills and deepen their understanding of computer science fundamentals. The competitions are held throughout the academic year, culminating in a final contest for qualifying teams and individuals. We are planning to host a team for elementary division (K-6) that is related to Computer science Non-programming test, focused on a single category of content. The topics covered are Computer Number Systems, Prefix / Infix / Postfix Notation, Boolean Algebra, and Graph Theory.
