Navy Update 11.17.24

Navy Families,

I have enjoyed being here this week, quicky getting to know this incredible staff and our wonderful students! While I am only here for a few weeks, we are working diligently to continue supporting the academic and social emotional growth of our children. I have been struck by the intentionality, thoughtfulness and diligence as teachers plan and care for students- from early morning until late evening. The commitment to Navy students and families is palpable here.

We will have another busy week next week as we get closer to Thanksgiving break. Thanks for your commitment to getting your children to school on time so that all students can be ready to learn when the bell rings at 8:50. Our days are full and a strong, on-time start means so much.

Looking forward to a great week!

Kindly,

Lindsay Trout

Acting Principal

📄FCPS Youth Survey - 6th Grade

Navy Elementary will be administering the Fairfax County Youth Survey to all 6th Grade students on Wednesday, December 18th. The Fairfax County Youth Survey is a collaboration between the Fairfax County School Board and the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors that aims to examine the behaviors, experiences, and other factors that influence the health and well-being of Fairfax County's youth.

While it is our hope that as many students as possible will participate, if you do not wish for your child to take part in the Youth Survey, please complete the opt-out form that was sent home on Friday or complete the form linked here and return it to your child's school counselor no later than December 16, 2024. If you have already opted your child out of this survey using the Parental Digital Consent Portal you do not need to provide additional information to the school counselor.

Cooler Weather & Lost and Found

lost and found

It appears that fall has settled in. With the change of seasons comes a shift in the weather. This is a good time to check the lost and found for any missing coats or sweaters.
