Dear Beech Tree Families,
We have a lot of things happening as we wrap up the month of November. Please remember that Monday, November 18th is a three hour early release day. Dismissal will occur at 1:00pm. unless you indicated in the survey that your child requires an alternate dismissal option.
Our annual Thanksgiving Luncheon, scheduled for this coming Thursday, November 21st. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to come together and enjoy lunch with their children while also volunteering their time. We encourage all families to attend and participate in this special event.
The luncheon will be served according to the class lunch schedules noted in the flyer below this message. We kindly ask that you arrive promptly to ensure you don't miss out on the delicious meal and the chance to spend time with your child.
Curriculum night will occur this Thursday, November 21st, at 6:00 p.m. This event allows parents and guardians to visit stations that support reading and math strategies presented by teachers. There will be take-away activities for families to receive. This night aligns with our focus on Portrait of a Graduate skills. Please come and partner with our teachers in learning ways to support your child's success.
Please be advised that school will be closed from November 27th through November 29th in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. We encourage you to use this time to create beautiful memories with your family and friends. Classes will resume on Monday, December 2nd.

FCPS is asking all families to fill out a Federal Impact Aid Survey Form. The paper form was sent home in this week’s Wednesday folder. We are asking all families to return the form no later than Monday, November 18th. The form is also available online in SIS ParentVUE
Completing this form for each school-aged child in every household is important, because information from this survey resulted in more than $4 million in funding last year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.

Technical support for using ParentVUE or completing the survey online is available by submitting a Parent Support Request ticket. Select SISParent in the Application dropdown menu and type Federal Impact Aid Survey under Issue Description. Or, call the Parent Technology Help Desk at 833-921-3277 (833-921-FCPS).
Students in grades K-5 participate in Family Life Education (FLE). Students receive instruction in a human growth and development unit and an emotional and social health unit.
You are invited to attend an evening opportunity to preview the Family Life Education media and lessons and to talk with school staff about the program. The meeting will be held on November 25th at 6:00 pm via Zoom. All program materials and media for all grade levels will be available for your review at this time. A link to joing the meeting will be sent out via e-Notify at 5:30 pm on November 25th.

Beech Tree Olympics
This is your last chance to join us for the annual Beech Tree Olympics this Saturday, November 16, 2024! Kids will have a blast competing in fun, timed athletic and academic events with their grade-level peers, building camaraderie and celebrating the Olympic spirit together. Each participant will receive an athlete medal! You can help in two ways:

Volunteer:Help manage activities and guide our grade-level teams.

Donate water or snacks: These items help hydrate and nourish our students as they participate in events.

International Night
Calling all volunteers for the International Night Planning Committee! International Night will be held on Thursday, December 5th, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Be part of creating a memorable celebration of our community's diverse cultures by volunteering for the International Night Planning Committee! We're looking for dedicated volunteers to help with everything from event setup and logistics to coordinating food, entertainment and more.
