Impact Aid forms- Reminder

The Federal Impact Aid Survey is available to complete in ParentVue until January. The Federal Impact Aid program provides money to districts that enroll federally connected students. Help FCPS secure funding from the Impact Aid Program by helping us identify:

  • Military families.
  • Federally connected families.
  • Families living on a military base.

Please complete one form for each child in your household. Remember that only the enrolling parent can fill out the Impact Aid Survey form. For families who have not completed the survey in ParentVUE, a paper copy of the form was sent home with your student.  Please return no later than December 13th. Your information will be kept strictly confidential. Your support will ensure that we receive the resources for which we are eligible.

Handwashing Reminders

As we transition into the fall and winter seasons, it's important for our students to remember the importance of practicing good hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette. These simple practices can significantly reduce the spread of germs, particularly during the upcoming holiday season when gatherings and travel increase.

Key Reminders:

  • Wash Hands Frequently: Encourage students to wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially before eating, after using the restroom, and after blowing their nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • Use Hand Sanitizer: When soap and water are not readily available, provide access to alcohol-based hand sanitizers with at least 60% alcohol content.
  • Cover Coughs and Sneezes: Remind students to cover their mouth and nose with a tissue or their elbow when coughing or sneezing. Dispose of tissues properly in a wastebasket and wash their hands.
  • Avoid Touching Face: Discourage students from touching their eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

Birthdays

If you would like to celebrate your child's birthday at school, please check with the teacher to see what might be appropriate.  We do not distribute food treats for birthdays because of allergies.

Some ideas might be to donate a book or a boardgame to the classroom or  come in to read to the class.  Again, please check with your child's teacher in advance.  Thank you.
