Want To Support Our Teachers?
As we approach the winter break, we want to take a moment to show our appreciation for the amazing teachers here at Liberty Middle School! To send them off with gratitude, we are hosting a Teachers Winter Celebration on Thursday, December 19th. This event is a chance for us to express our thanks and celebrate all their hard work before we meet again in January.
To make this event even more special, we are inviting families to donate gift cards to be raffled off during the gathering. Any amount, starting as low as $5, would be greatly appreciated. Your contributions will allow us to offer a fun and thoughtful gesture of appreciation to our dedicated staff of 102 teachers.
Please drop off gift cards at the main office or send them with your student in a sealed envelope to be delivered to the main office by Monday, December 16th.

Return Your Federal Impact Aid Survey
For any families who have not completed the survey in ParentVUE, your student will be provided with paper forms on Monday, November 18.
Paper forms should be returned by Tuesday, November 16.
Completing this form for each school-aged child in every household is important. Information from this survey resulted in more than $4 million in funding last year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.

Support Liberty Middle School Students with Supplies!
Dear families:
We are looking to build up our supply of board games and card games for indoor recess on rainy/wintery days, extension activities, and the after school program. If you have any new or gently used, age-appropriate games collecting dust, we would love to have them! You or your student can drop off games to the main office any time during regular hours (7:00 am – 3:00 pm). Materials Review Committee
We are seeking parent volunteers to serve on our Materials Review Committee. Committee members will read or watch the texts that teachers submit for approval to ensure that it is age appropriate for students. We will also meet monthly to discuss the texts prior to completing the required forms.

Food For Neighbors
Hunger is an unwelcome guest this holiday season.
For many families in our school community struggling financially, providing daily meals is difficult and a special holiday meal can become a source of worry and stress. Help a local family know the joy of gathering together for a holiday meal. We’re partnering with Food For Neighbors to provide $50 grocery store gift cards to our most vulnerable families. Free and Reduced-Price Meals:
Learn more about the criteria and process to apply for free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch.
If you have children eligible for the federal Free and Reduced-Price Meals program, they may also be eligible to participate in other Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) fee-based programs without paying a fee or by paying a reduced fee (e.g fees associated with elective classes).

The free and reduced-price meals application also includes a section where you provide consent to share information allowing FCPS staff (School Principal, school counselors and other FCPS program staff) to share information about your children's meal eligibility status.
