Veterans' Day

Luncheon and Parade

Greenbriar West Elementary School recently hosted a special Veterans Day luncheon on Friday, November 8th to honor our military-connected families. Over 20 families gathered to enjoy a catered meal provided by local businesses: Olive Garden, Buffalo Wing Factory, Texas Roadhouse, and Wegmans.

Following the luncheon, a parade was held to celebrate these families. Students lined the halls with American Flags to cheer and show their appreciation for the sacrifices made by their military connected friends and their loved ones.

The school community is proud to have representation from all six branches of the U.S. military. Among the military spouses and Blue Star moms on staff, Greenbriar West is home to Office Assistant, Sally Bippert veteran Coast Guard Officer and 2nd-grade teacher Daphne Clarence, who came to us as a career switcher and is a recent Air Force retiree.

Military Family Liaison Katie Belyea-Musitani played a crucial role in organizing the event. Her dedication to supporting military families is invaluable.

The school hopes this event fostered a sense of community and pride among its military-connected families.
