On Monday, November 4, Chantilly Academy HOSA (Future Health Professionals) members attended the HOSA District Leadership Conference at West Potomac High School, where nearly 300 students competed in events related to Health and Medical Science careers. 18 Chantilly Academy students placed in the top 3 in their competitive events. Congratulations to all of our competitors who represented Chantilly Academy; we are so proud of you!
A former Chantilly Academy Carpentry student, Andrew, began a full-time position as a Carpenter with FCPS this week. Andrew began taking Carpentry at Chantilly Academy during his sophomore year and continued through his senior year. While taking Carpentry 3 as a senior, Andrew participated in the FCPS Trades for Tomorrow program where he worked as an apprentice and had the unique opportunity to learn from and work alongside FCPS Facilities technicians. The classroom instruction he received from our awesome Carpentry instructor, Mr. Godfrey, combined with the experience he gained in the T4T program prepared Andrew for his new role as a Carpenter with FCPS. Congratulations, Andrew! We are so proud of you.
Exploring Health Science students assisted the Chantilly HS Clinic staff with vision screenings this week.
