- Monday, November 11th – Student Holiday
Our school community came together to honor our veterans with a beautiful and meaningful Veterans Day Program. The event featured moving performances by our talented students, including patriotic songs and heartfelt reflections on the sacrifices made by our military service members and our military-connected youth.
We were honored to have Mrs. Annemarie Lyons Powell, daughter of the late General Colin L. Powell, as our guest speaker. She shared inspiring stories about her father's life and service, captivating our students and staff.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all veterans for their selfless service to our country.

To ensure transparency and celebrate our progress, we will be sharing weekly attendance data in our newsletter. By highlighting this important information, we aim to keep our families informed and energized about our collective efforts to reduce absenteeism and prevent students from becoming chronically absent.
Chronic absenteeism is when a student has missed 10% or more of the school days in the school year. This includes all absences, regardless of whether they are excused and unexcused. Research shows that students who are chronically absent are at higher risk of falling behind and dropping out of school.
We care deeply about all of our students and aim for success for each student. Our partnership to support regular school attendance is critical to that success. Please follow the health policy and send your children to school every day.

Kudos to our 5th & 6th grade students in chorus for their amazing performance this week in the Centerville Pyramid Choral Concert! They did an amazing job and we couldn't be more proud! It was also wonderful to see our students now in middle and high school continuing their journey in chorus. We truly have amazing Fine Arts programming in the Centreville pyramid and FCPS!
