Students have fun on the Franklin Sherman playground.

Principal's Message

FSES Community,

I hope everyone had a wonderful, long weekend with the gorgeous weather. Last week we had a fun Storybook character day where staff and students dressed up. Students voted on group and individual costumes of the staff. There was a fun competitive spirit throughout the building. We also had a lovely grilled cheese and tomato soup for all the staff. Thank you to the PTA for generously donating so much food and drinks for this event.

We also started our student recognition program at the end of the week. Each month the students will be nominated by staff members based on one of the FCPS Portrait of  a Graduate attributes.  The past month the first “Paws-a-tive Panda Award” celebrated students who were demonstrating skills as good collaborators. These are announced on Panda News Network and certificates are given out by Mrs. Thomas & Mr. Ralston during the day.

I hope you were each able to set up a time to meet with your child’s teacher for feedback on the first quarter. We are excited to begin the 2nd quarter and look forward to continuing to work together to help each and every student grow this year.
