Dear Island Creek Families,
Welcome to the 2nd Quarter of the 2024-2025 School Year! It's wonderful to have our Crocs back at school!
Did you know we have a student-run Morning News Show (Island Creek News Network, ICNN) overseen by Ms. Keaney and Ms. Mehrtash? In addition to the birthday recognitions, pledge of allegiance, moment of silence, weather reports, and lunch menu, the Morning News is an avenue for students to learn about special days/recognitions/celebrations and in November include: Native American Heritage Month, Veterans Day, World Kindness Day, Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day, Thanksgiving, and more!
Next week, we will have two Spirit Days for World Kindness Day and Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day! In tandem with the Spirit Days, students will share how to show kindness to each other and create a school banner with words that represent kindness and fairness.
