National Family Engagement Month

November is National Family Engagement Month! This month reminds us that families are children's first and most important teachers, advocates, and nurturers.  Over 40 years of research have shown that the most effective way to increase student achievement is for families to be actively involved in their children's education. Family engagement is a shared responsibility between home, school, and the community. The importance of family engagement will be highlighted during November as we celebrate and strengthen family-school partnerships.

Here are some suggested activities and recourses in which families can participate together:

  • Visit the link to the FCPS Family Academy
  • Visit your local library or go online to get a library card for your child.
  • Ask  your child what they discuss in morning meetings.
  • Register for workshops and webinars provided through our academy.

Aesop Live!

Showing Thursday, November 21st; Friday, November 22nd & Saturday, November 23rd at 2PM & 7PM.

The 2PM matinee on Saturday is dedicated to young audience members and they will be invited onstage to take pictures with the cast and crew after the show!

Aesop's Fables have never been told like this! From well-known classics like "The Tortoise and the Hare" and "The Boy who Cried Wolf" to lesser known stories like "the Two Pots" and "The Thirsty Pigeon", These fast-paced fables get foiled as the narrators try and keep the show from running off the rails.

or by using this direct link:https://www.etix.com/ticket/v/15611/luther-jackson-middle-school
