It's going to be a busy November!

Shopping Cart

While waiting for the busy, one of our preschool students was very busy using Ms. Edwards's child size shopping cart to pick up all of the stuffies located in the office.

November is shaping up to be a busy month! The first quarter is wrapping up and there are several student holidays an early releases. Be sure to check the Upcoming Events section at the end of this newsletter to make sure you are aware of everything happening.

Nominate a Rose Hill Team Member...deadline is soon!

We have a fantastic team at Rose Hill and think that their work should be highlighted in a larger forum. Parents can send in a nomination for the Outstanding Employee Awards so think about a teacher or school leader that has made a positive impact on your family and take a few minutes to submit a nomination. You can nominate for the following categories:

  • Outstanding Teacher
  • Outstanding New Teacher
  • Outstanding New Principal
  • Outstanding Leader
  • Outstanding Professional Employee
  • Outstanding Operational Employee

The criterion can be found here as well as links to the nomination forms. If you aren't sure if the person whom you want to nominate fits the criteria, that's ok. Go ahead and nominate them and coordinator Mrs. Rieger will check their eligibility. Deadline to submit a nomination is November 4th. If you have questions, contact Mrs. Rieger at clrieger@fcpsschools.net.

RHES Book Character Day!

Character Day

Book Character Day will be held Thursday, October 31st. Rose Hill teams do a wonderful job choosing themes such as the 101 Dalmations and we want the students to join us!

Students may dress up as their favorite book character for the day. It is important to note that anything that looks like a weapon, such as a sword, gun, bow & arrow (even if they are made from plastic or foam), should not be brought to school. You may also want to consider packing an extra pair of shoes or clothes for your kiddos should their costume get uncomfortable during the day.

This is such a fun day and we also want to keep everyone safe. If you have questions, contact your child's teacher.

Return your Federal Impact Aid Survey

FCPS is asking all families to fill out a Federal Impact Aid Survey. The form is available in SIS ParentVUE under Online Packets (in the upper right corner after logging in). Please complete it as soon as possible.

For any families who have not completed the survey in ParentVUE, schools will provide paper forms starting Wednesday, November 13. Paper forms should be returned by Wednesday, December 4.

Completing this form for each school-aged child in every household is important. Information from this survey resulted in more than $4 million in funding last year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.

For more information, please watch this video on Impact Aid and visit the Federal Impact Aid Surveyhttps://www.fcps.edu/impact page.
