We want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible hard work of our PTA and their dedication to enriching our school community. While many families joined us for the Fall Festival, we experienced a shortage of parent volunteers, which impacts our ability to execute upcoming events. We are currently planning the Annual Halloween BINGO & Trunk or Treat on October 25th, but without enough volunteers, we may have to cancel this fun event. We encourage all parents to consider signing up to volunteer. Your support is vital in making these events successful and ensuring our children have memorable experiences. Together, we can make a difference in our school community! Thank you for your continued support! Click here to volunteer!
We are thrilled to share that our school is benefiting immensely from the dedicated assistance of the Davis Career Center Crew. This program is designed to support students with disabilities aged 18-22 years, providing them with instruction through a modified curriculum focused on essential life and career skills. By working alongside our staff, these students are gaining valuable real-world experience and contributing positively to our school community.
In the coming weeks, we will be introducing a special member of the Davis Career Center Crew—a service dog! This furry companion provides invaluable assistance to its handler and contributes to a positive atmosphere within our school community. We are excited about this collaboration and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our school environment. Thank you for supporting our efforts to create an inclusive and enriching atmosphere for all!
As we prioritize the safety of all our students and staff at WES, we kindly ask parents to adhere to the following protocols during drop-off and pick-up times. Please do not double-park when dropping off or picking up your child; instead, consider parking and walking to the entrance or using the Kiss and Ride lane for a safer and more efficient experience. When visiting the school, ensure you have a photo ID ready. You will be required to ring the bell, show your ID, and check in at the office. It’s also essential to keep your contact information up to date in our Student Information System, including email addresses and phone numbers. This ensures that we can reach you promptly in case of any emergencies. Additionally, please verify that we have accurate emergency contact names and numbers on file. Your cooperation helps us maintain a safe and welcoming environment for everyone at Westbriar Elementary. Thank you for your support!
As we welcome parents to join us for various school events during school hours, we want to remind everyone of our photography policy. While we encourage families to capture special moments, please refrain from taking photos of children other than your own. Many parents have chosen not to have their child's image publicized for privacy reasons, and we must respect their wishes. This policy helps create a safe and comfortable environment for all our students and families. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us protect the privacy of our school community!
Starting Wednesday, November 6th, we are excited to announce that parents will have the opportunity to join their child for lunch! To ensure a smooth process, please remember to have a photo ID ready. You will need to ring the bell, present your ID, and check in at the office before proceeding to the cafeteria. This initiative will begin on a trial basis as we evaluate our ability to accommodate parents in the lunch area while our school continues to grow. We kindly ask that this be done on a limited basis, as lunchtime is an important time for students to build social skills with their peers. Thank you for your cooperation, and we look forward to sharing this special time with you!
As we strive to create a focused learning environment at WES, we kindly remind parents to discuss the school’s guidelines regarding the use of smart watches and cell phones with their children. During school hours, all cell phones should be silenced or turned off and stored away. Smart watches should only be used to tell time, and not for texting, gaming, or other distractions. If a student is found using their cell phone or watch inappropriately, it will be taken and held in the front office until a parent or guardian can pick it up. Thank you for your support in helping us maintain a productive classroom atmosphere!
