3 Hour Early Release is Monday, October 21

Parklawn's next 3 hour early release is scheduled for Monday, October 21st. An eNotify was sent out to all families which confirmed your student's plan at the 12:30 dismissal. If you did not receive your message or have any questions, please  call the main office at (703) 914-6900.

AAP Referral Process Information Session: October 23 at 6 pm

As a follow up to our October 9 AAP Information Night, this evening will specifically discuss the process for screening students for advanced academics placement. Our Advanced Academics Teacher, Ms. Kristen Gluck, will share important information and answer questions that you might have. This meeting will be held in our library. See you there!

Parklawn Storybook Character Day is October 31!

Thursday, October 31 will be a special Parklawn spirit day! Storybook Character Day a favorite Parklawn event every October. We are excited to have the return of our parade!!! Weather permitting, our parade will begin at 9:30. If family members would like to join us, you may do so outside as we take our parade around the building. Staff and Students may dress up as their favorite storybook characters and share their favorite book. Thank you for remembering costumes must be from a storybook, and masks or toy weapons are not permitted.

Quarter End, Early Release, Diwali/Dia de los Muertos and All Saints Day, Student Holidays

Thursday, October 31, is the last day of the first quarter, and a two-hour early release for ALL students. Unlike October 21, there is no supervision for student childcare. Dismissal is at 1:30.

 Friday, November 1, is a holiday this year for Diwali and Dia de los Muertos and All Saints Day. All schools and offices will be closed. Schools are closed for students on Monday, November 4, for a school planning day, and Tuesday, November 5, for a teacher workday. See the complete school year calendar.

Is there a Parklawn staff member you believe is deserving of an FCPS Outstanding Staff Award? Is there someone that has gone above and beyond to better you or your child’s experience with school? Consider nominating a Parklawn staff member for an award! To nominate someone, please fill out the Google form with their name and how they meet the criteria by November 8.
