Setting Students Up for Success
Helping our students start their day with a positive mindset and readiness behaviors is important for a strong beginning, and it all starts with arriving to school on time.
All students should be in their classrooms, seated, and ready to start the day by 9:20. Arriving early allows time to greet friends, organize belongings, and complete Morning Work before participating in the Morning Meeting, which helps build classroom community. Even a few extra minutes can make a big difference!
Let’s work together to ensure every student starts their day on a positive note! If you need support, our team is here to help—just reach out.

We need a response for every student. We have responses for 300 students, and have 250 more to go!
We expect most students to follow their usual routes home. If your family needs supervision on the day, instructional assistants, subs, and other staff will oversee students during this time.

The PTA's Fall Festival, an annual favorite, took place this Friday. It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying time together—whether playing games, spending time on the playground, enjoying a family dinner, dancing with special guest DJ Platts, or gearing up for the movie. If you have photos from the event, please be sure to Submit SVES Photos via Dropbox so we can stream them on the Main Office TV.
The Federal Impact Aid Survey will be available in ParentVUE starting Monday October 21. Be on the look out for an eNotify message from FCPS on Monday October 21 for additional instructions.
The Federal Impact Aid program provides money to districts that enroll federally connected students. Help FCPS secure funding from the Impact Aid Program by helping us identify:
- Military Families
- Federally connected families
- Families living on a military base
Please complete one form for each child in your household. Remember that only the enrolling parent can fill out the Impact Aid Survey form. For families without access to ParentVUE, a paper copy of the form will be sent home with your student starting November 12. If you would like access to ParentVUE please email cwmacmurtrie@fcps.edu.
