Students in all grades are invited to participate in the 2024-2025 Reflections program. Students can submit artwork in the categories of dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography or visual arts–all based on the theme of “Accepting Imperfections.” This competition offers an excellent opportunity for your kids to showcase their creativity in their favorite way. For more details and to submit your child’s artwork, please visit: https://forms.gle/cJTrogPHaXQ2PRsW9. Submissions are due by Friday, Nov. 15.
Please visit the inspiration table at the Book Fair Family Night on Oct. 22 where your kids can brainstorm ideas and you can ask questions about the program. If you would like to volunteer at the inspiration table, please reach out to Jessica Gardner at j.gardner.sculptor@gmail.com.
The Marine Band Quintet graced our 4th, 5th and 6th grade students with an amazing performance today. Proud Mama, Ms. Cradler, our band teacher, was able to see her son perform for her students.
Please join Mr. Gray and Ms. Prindle virtually for an Overview of the Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) at 7:00 PM here.
The deadline for families of current grades 2-7 students to make a referral for Full Time AAP services (which would begin in the Fall of 2025) is December 15, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. Referrals can be made by dropping off a hard copy to the Wakefield Forest Main Office or emailing Tony Gray awgray1@fcps.edu.
All forms for AAP services are available on the FCPS website.

Just 1 more week for donations for the Howling Wolf Fun Run. Donation packets were sent home in last week’s Thursday folders. You can also donate online here.
- The students hit the goal of raising $15,000 in the first week, so the whole school will have a pajama day on Monday, October 21st! Please no stuffies. Rumor has it Wolfie has some epic jammies…
- Our target is for each student to raise at least $65, which would put us at our total goal of $45,000 total.
- Prizes are awarded to students as they hit their donation goals.
- Please encourage your child to do this service work for the school. Guidelines are included in the packet.
-
Howling Wolf Fun Run is the PTA’s biggest fundraiser of the year and all funds go directly into the amazing programs and people that make our school community so outstanding.
- It takes an incredible number of volunteers to make this happen. Please consider donating your time: Sign Up to Volunteer
