Technology is a powerful tool for keeping parents informed and involved in their child's education. At Braddock, we are committed to using technology to strengthen the parent-teacher partnership. Here's a quick overview of some key platforms you can use to stay in the loop:
-
TalkingPoints: This app makes communication between home and school easier than ever. Send and receive messages with your child's teacher directly from your phone.
-
ParentVue: ParentVue offers a convenient way to access your child's grades, attendance records, and other important school information.
-
Schoology: Schoology is a learning management system that provides access to class materials, assignments, and announcements.
Join us in embracing technology to enhance your child's educational experience on Wednesday, October 23rd, at 9:30 AM for an important discussion on technology tools to keep you informed.
Join us for our second AAP Family Meeting to delve into the AAP Full-Time Screening Process. Learn about the key components of the screening process, the evaluation criteria, and how to support your child's success. This informative session will provide valuable insights and answer your questions. This meeting will be held on Thursday, October 24th, at 5:00 PM.
Lexia will be offering Parent Nights throughout the 24-25 SY. Information regarding the Lexia Parent Nights can be found on Family Academy Site or on one of the translated fliers below.
Want to help your child make healthier choices in the cafeteria? Our Food and Nutrition Services team is here to assist! Here are some simple steps you can take:
- Start with Breakfast: A nutritious breakfast can fuel your child's day. Our school offers a balanced breakfast option daily.
- Smart Snacking: Pack healthy snacks like fruits and vegetables, similar to the ones you'll find on our salad bars.
- Mindful Eating: Encourage your child to eat slowly and savor their food. This can prevent overeating.
- Stay Hydrated: Water is essential! Avoid sugary drinks and excessive juice.
- Try New Foods: Explore the cafeteria menu with your child and encourage them to try new dishes.
- Involve Your Child: Let them help choose meals and snacks. This can make healthy eating more exciting.
Remember, small steps can lead to big changes. By following these tips, you can help your child develop healthy eating habits that will benefit them for years to come.
Multiple studies show that school lunches are important in supporting overall student health by improving students’ diets and combating food insecurity. Students who eat school lunches consume more fruit, vegetables, and fiber than their peers. This School Lunch Week, FCPS Food and Nutrition Services reminds families that they are dedicated to providing flavorful, healthy, sustainable, and student-focused meals. Also, new menu items have been launched this year based on student feedback.
Want to know what’s for breakfast or lunch? Nutrition Services now has printable menus.
