Dear Olde Creek Families,
It's hard to believe another week has flown by! This week, we enjoyed beautiful weather and had the opportunity to spend more time outdoors. Our students also participated in a variety of exciting activities, including an engaging 6th grade field trip and our first Walking Club!
We encourage you to join us this afternoon for the Woodson High School Homecoming parade. It's a great opportunity to cheer on our community and celebrate the spirit of our schools.
Next week, get ready for our much-anticipated book fair! It's a fantastic opportunity for your child to explore new books and discover their next favorite read.

Calendar Reminder
As a reminder, students will be dismissed at 12:15PM on Monday, October 21st.
To ensure a smooth dismissal, please make arrangements for your child's pickup accordingly. Confirmation of student dismissal plans were sent out to all families earlier this week via TalkingPoints.
Please note: If you need to make a change to your child's supervision status, please complete this form.
Olde Creek will release students at 12:15 PM on the following days:

 Nominations are now open for 2024-2025 FCPS Outstanding Employee Awards!
To submit a nomination for an Olde Creek Elementary Outstanding Employee in one of the categories below, please complete the nomination through this Google form. You may nominate one employee or multiple. All that is required for a preliminary nomination is a short paragraph about how the employee demonstrates exceptional work in the criteria for that category.
Outstanding Teacher
Eligibility: Has at least three years of experience as a teacher (in any school/school district); librarians are included in this category
Outstanding New Teacher
Eligibility: Has up to three years of experience as a teacher (in any school/school district); librarians are included in this category
Outstanding New Principal
Eligibility: Has up to three years of experience as a building principal (in any school/school district)
Outstanding Leader
Eligibility: At least one year of experience in their current position as a Schedule-C or School-Based Administrator scale employee (that is not the building principal) at their current location
Common positions in this category: Assistant Principals
Outstanding Professional Employee
Eligibility: At least one year experience in current position as a Schedule-B employee or other non-instructional employee in a school that supports school leadership at their current location
Common positions in this category: School-Based Technology Specialist, Technology Support Specialist, MTSS Coordinator, Psychologist, Social Worker, School Counselor. Resource Teachers that serve in an administrative role in a school, Special Education Department Chairs, and Reading Specialists.
Outstanding Operational Employee
Eligibility: At least one year of experience in current position as Schedule-A or Classroom Instructional Support Scale employee at their current location
Common positions in this category: Administrative and Office Staff, Custodial Staff, Food Service Staff, IA, PHA, PHTA, Parent Liaison

You can still order pictures of your student from Strawbridge using their NEW Code Lookup Tool. Simply scan the QR code in the flyer below and follow the directions to access your child's picture ordering gallery. Be sure to type "Olde Creek Elementary" completely for the school name search box. No need to contact Customer Service for an access code! *Student last name and Student ID number will be required for data security.*

Woodson High School Homecoming Parade
Woodson High School Fall Fest
Woodson’s Annual Fall Festival is on Saturday, October 26th from 11am-2pm. There will be Trunk or Treating, face painting, a bounce house, arts and crafts, and games for Woodson’s feeder students to participate in for this fall season! Admission is free for all!

PTA Halloween Howl
Join us for a spooktacular night of fun on Friday, October 25th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Enjoy pizza, snacks, trunk-or-treat, a cake game, dancing, and a costume contest.
New this year: Bring canned goods for our "reverse trick-or-treat" to support Bears Cares families.

Sports Camp for Early Release Mondays
Olde Creek's PTA has partnered with Overtime Athletics to provide a sports camp for students from 12:15 PM to 3:15 PM on Early Release Mondays. Students will play a variety of group game tournaments, such as floor hockey, basketball, soccer, gym group games, and more! Camp will cost $40. Click here for more details and registration.
