Dranesville Parents: Square One Art Coming Soon!
Get ready for a burst of creativity and a whole lot of heartwarming art! We're thrilled to announce the upcoming Square 1 Art fundraiser, where our talented students become budding Picassos and you can take home their masterpieces on unique items.
🖌️ Here's how it works:
- Our students have been hard at work crafting their own beautiful artwork
- Soon, your child will bring home their individual Square 1 Art catalog, showcasing their incredible creations.
- You'll have until November 8 to browse the catalog online and place your orders.
But wait, there's more! 📦 Your orders will be delivered right to your doorstep, just in time for the holiday season, approximately 2-3 weeks after the order deadline. 🎁

Reflections Art Contest: Submissions due Nov.15th
Explore the arts and express yourself! Students are invited to submit their completed works of theme-based art, along with their artist statement, by November 15th. The theme this year is “Accepting Imperfection.”

Dranesville will accept artwork in the categories of literature, visual arts and music composition. To participate, artwork must follow the grade level guidelines listed and include the official entry form.

Therapeutic Arts Science & Growth Mindset Workshop
Fall 2024 Curriculum: Art of Doodling, Watercolor Wildflowers, Mystery Science, Self Compassion, Power of Poetry, Acrylic Art Game
When: Wednesdays, October 9 - November 16, 2024, 4:15 - 6:00 p.m.

Chess Club Hosted by Magnus Academy
Learn chess with Magnus Academy, the five time world champion’s academy! Class time is divided between lessons and practice games. Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies.

Volunteer Opportunities
PTA HOSTED BREAKFAST for the STAFF
Each month this school year our staff will be gathering for a monthly meeting before school. We’d love to show our appreciation by providing breakfast for these morning meetings. Each month a different grade level will “host”, beginning with 6th grade.
The PTA is excited to partner with the 5TH GRADE FAMILIES to host October’s staff breakfast on Friday, October 11th. There are many ways you can contribute including monetary donations, food donations, and volunteering. If you are making a food contribution, please drop off to the cafeteria between 8-8:15 AM.
Please select what works best for you. Hopefully everyone can find a way to get involved and show our amazing staff at Dranesville how much we appreciate them! Please feel free to contact Kristen Chevalier, secretary1@dranesvillepta.com with any questions.
