Freshman Class Parent Coffee 

Please join us for the first parent coffee for the Freshman Class on Monday, October 7 at 8:30 a.m.! Come meet other Freshman parents and learn about "Finding Your Fit" at Langley HS from Geoff Noto, LHS Director of Student Activities. The coffee will be held in the Lecture Hall at LHS. Although registration is not required to attend, we ask that you kindly click here to RSVP so we have a general idea of attendance. We hope to see you there!

Picture Day Make-Ups for 9th, 10th and 11th graders - Students who have not yet taken a school picture, or students who purchased a picture package, but are unhappy with the image have a chance to be photographed on Tuesday, October 8. Retakes are not available just for ID cards or yearbook unless there is a problem with the picture (ex. eyes closed, hair in face.) Students must have a picture package order to qualify for a retake.

  • When - Tuesday, Oct 8, 8am-3pm
  • Where - Langley Hall 
  • How - Students must take themselves to the photographer before school, Saxon Time, lunch or right at the end of the day. 

Digital PSAT/SAT Test: October 9, 2024

Langley will hold the PSAT/SAT test during the school day on October 9, 2024. An email with testing location and additional details will be sent to enrolling parents & students on October 7, 2024.

Students must use a fully charged FCPS Chromebook to take the digital PSAT/SAT.

  • Students must bring their FULLY CHARGED school-issued Chromebook on October 9.
  • Options for Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) students are listed in our Student All Schoology Course and included in the email from Ms. Terry.  
  • Important Note: Spare Chromebooks are limited and will ONLY be used for students who BYOD or for students with technical issues on the testing date.

Reminder: All 10th and 11th graders will take the PSAT/NMSQT, the qualifying test for National Merit, while opt-in seniors will take the SAT School Day.   Seniors who did not opt in SAT School Day and freshmen do not attend school on October 9; it’s an unscheduled school day for them.

The Langley High School Chorus proudly presents Langley Lights Up Broadway – a spectacular showcase of your favorite Broadway tunes, brought to life by our talented chorus members on Oct 9 and 10 at 7 pm. Tickets are available for purchase here. General admission is $10 for adults and just $5 for students. Additionally, FCPS Faculty/Staff members are entitled to two complimentary tickets each. 

Can't plan ahead? Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door. Get ready to sing, dance, and relive timeless Broadway classics with the Langley


Transfer Families 

Come join Dr. Braden Peterson, Director of Student Services for the third Transfer Family forum on Thursday, October 10 from 9-10 am in the Lecture Hall.  There will be a social coffee beforehand from 8:30-9:00.  Dr. Peterson will talk about resources available from the Student Services Department: meet counselors, the school psychologist, social counselor and the college and career counselor. 


Vision and Hearing Screening for Sophomores 

The Vision and hearing Screenings will be on October 16th and 17th for all Sophomores.

Students will need to bring reading glasses with them on the day of the screening.

Consider this year’s Reflection’s theme “Accepting Imperfection” and create Art that reflects the theme!

Create your masterpiece in Visual Arts, Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Photography or Music Composition.

Express who you are and why Imperfection is accepted, by expressing your ideas, opinions and feelings in an artistic way!

The deadline is on November 15th.

FCPS College Fair

The College Fair is designed to connect high school students with opportunities in postsecondary education. It is one of the largest College Fairs in the region. It features 200 colleges and universities from around the nation as well as representatives from the U.S. Service Academies. Each year the College Fair draws thousands of students and their families.


Virtual Postsecondary Nights

Dates: Monday, October 21, 2024, and Tuesday, October 22, 2024 Times: Sessions are at 5, 6, and 7 p.m. A two-night virtual event featuring live sessions each night! Join us and learn how to be better prepared for the next chapter of your educational journey.

Tutoring and learning resources at no cost to families

Fairfax County Public Schools is partnering with Varsity Tutors to provide students and families with extra resources for learning. Every student can take advantage of Varsity Tutors' services, at no cost, including weekly live online classes, on demand 24/7 chat tutoring, essay editing, study resources such as recorded content, practice problems, and diagnostic tests.

Virtual therapy sessions are available to FCPS high school students at no cost to provide them with a safe space to address concerns such as:
