The Appian Board Games League is a free after-school program designed to help students in grades 7 and 8 develop important critical-thinking and social skills while engaged in a fun and challenging activity.
Meetings will take place from 2:30-3:30 on Wednesdays for 6 meetings:
10/2, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23 - students will learn to play Splendor and will perfect their strategy
10/30, 11/6 - students will compete in a club tournament to determine top players
11/9 - Top players will compete against other FCPS Middle School students in a Splendor Tournament at KJMS - There will be food and cash prizes!!

KJMS After-School is partnering with Learn Now Music to offer high quality Guitar Instruction for FREE!
Musicians will participate in musical instruction and theory for beginners as well as musical games, special extension curriculum based activities, musical listening excerpts, related projects and more!
Rental Instruments paid for by KJMS After-School!
Learn Now Music Guitar Lessons will take place on Wednesdays from 2:30-4:00pm for 8 meetings.

KJMS After-School is seeking parent volunteers to help with our Academic Competition Clubs. We are in need of both 7th and 8th grade parents to work with the following clubs:
Math Counts (Mondays, 2:30-4:30)
Science Olympiad (Thursdays, 2:30-4:30)
Quiz Bowl (Fridays, 2:30-3:30)
