Next Week’s School Schedule

There will be no school for students on Thursday, October 3rd, and Friday, October 4th. Thursday, October 3rd is a Student/Staff Holiday in observance of Rosh Hashanah. Friday, October 4th is a Staff/Teacher Work Day. We hope everyone enjoys the break, and we look forward to welcoming students back to school on Monday, October 7th!


Additional Dates of Importance

Please note that the week of October 28th will have some scheduling changes. On Monday, October 28th, students will have a 3-hour early release, and we will provide supervision for those who are challenged to provide child care after dismissal. However, on Thursday, October 31st, students will be released 2-hour early release, and no supervision will be available after school that day. Additionally, Friday, November 1st, will be a student holiday in observance of Diwali, so there will be no school. Please plan accordingly and make any necessary arrangements for your child. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility!

Don’t Miss Out: Providence Day and Back-to-School Celebration on Sat., Oct. 5

Join us for a day of fun, connection, and community spirit! The inaugural Providence Day and Back-to-School Celebration is happening on Saturday, October 5, from 11 AM to 3 PM at Marshall High School. This exciting, free event is open to all Fairfax County residents and will celebrate our vibrant, diverse community while highlighting local organizations and businesses. It’s a perfect opportunity to strengthen connections among families, residents, and community leaders. Enjoy interactive booths, live performances, food trucks, activities for kids, giveaways, prizes, community spotlights, and much more!

Accessibility and Transportation: Marshall High School is easily accessible by car, bus, or bike. Free shuttle services will be available from the Jim Scott Community Center (3001 Vaden Drive) and the James Lee Community Center (2855 Annandale Road).

Westbriar Elementary is excited to partner with our local community to enhance learning opportunities for our students in the fields of technology, engineering, and "green" education. We are seeking collaborations with businesses and organizations that share our vision for innovative, hands-on learning experiences.

Student Immunizations - FREE!

Safeway Pharmacy will be providing immunizations for all FCPS students at no cost! Parents or guardians may schedule an appointment and provide consent for their student(s). The immunization clinics are being held at Frost Middle School, 4101 Pickett Rd. Fairfax, VA 22032, on:  

  • Tuesday, October 8, 3 PM to 7 PM
  • Saturday, October 12, 9 AM to 5 PM

Students under the age of 19, with a scheduled appointment and parental consent, must be accompanied by their parent, guardian, or another adult over the age of 18. 

Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are highly encouraged to avoid wait times. A parent or guardian must accompany walk-in students under the age of 19 in order to provide consent.
