Hello Hunters Woods Mustangs!
It’s been a humid and rainy week, but we're looking forward to a bright and sunny long weekend ahead! We’re also fortunate that our area avoided the severe weather that impacted other regions, and we send our best to those working through the aftermath.
We had our first PTA meeting in September. Check out the Meeting Presentation, Board Roles and Responsibilities, and our Volunteer Survey.
Mark your calendars for our next PTA meeting on Wednesday, November 13th.
September Highlights:
- Hunters Woods' very first Spanish class started for the school year.
- Thank you for helping stock up the teacher's lounge!
- First movie night was a great success.
This month we’ve got some exciting activities lined up:
- Baroody after school classes start on Tuesday, October 8th. We need 2 more students to register for Bop & Groove on Thursdays (or Thursday classes may be cancelled). Register by the end of the day today.
- Support Walk, Bike, Roll to School day on the morning of Wednesday, October 9th.
- PTA Musical – Audition workshop scheduled for Thursday, October 17 with auditions to follow the next week.
- Dining for Dollars at Chipotle Saturday October 26th – Enjoy a meal while supporting our school!
- Teacher Appreciation – Let’s show our teachers some appreciation with a Fall beverage and treat cart.
- STEM clubs - Call for students, coaches, and volunteers for Lego League, MathCounts, Odyssey of the Mind, and Science Olympiad.
We can’t wait to see you at these events!

Walk, Bike, Roll to School Day: Get together with your neighbors!
Wednesday, October 9, morning
FCPS will participate in International Walk and Roll to School Day in an effort to promote physical activity and reduce traffic congestion and pollution near schools. Students and employees are encouraged to bike or walk to school and work where safe to do so. Parents are encouraged to accompany their children to school, and to work with their school and PTA or PTO to assemble bike trains or walking groups for the event. Schools are encouraged to register online with Walk and Bike to School. Get more information about Walk to School Day.
This year, we're inviting Hunters Woods students to travel together from their neighborhood in a group or from the Hunters Woods Pool.
- Celebrate when you arrive at school by signing the banner and receive your gift at Door 1.
-
Secure your bike at the racks located by the K & R loop or the bottom of the bus loop.
- Students who ride the bus can plan to walk with their families & friends before or after school to participate.
