A Message from the PTA President

Dear Hunt Valley Families,

We hope you all are staying dry (as much as you can) with this rainy weather. The book fair has been successful so far with seeing so many excited kids’ faces browsing through the fair checking the variety of books, games, puzzles, and even cool kushy pencil grips. Please remember to ensure an e-wallet account is set up for your child(ren) if they want to make a purchase during school hours. Parents that would like to come in and use a credit card may come in during the following hours.

  • Wednesday, Sept 25 from 4:30PM - 6:30PM
  • Thursday, Sept 26 from 8AM - 9AM
  • Friday, Sept 27 from 8AM - 9AM
  • Friday, Sept 27 from 4:30PM - 7:30PM

All purchases are sales tax-free!

For those that missed the PTA meeting on Sept 17 or would like to review what was discussed, the slides and minutes are ready and posted on the PTA website (hvpta.ptboard.com/activity). We discussed the budget for the year, the goals, upcoming events, and volunteering opportunities and committees that need chairs/coordinators.

We also have our Fall Festival Neon Dance Party this Friday, Sept 27 from 5:30pm-8:30pm at the Hunt Valley School Grounds. The event is still happening rain or shine. Wristbands are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Adults and children under the age of 3 are free.  The wristbands provide access to unlimited carnival games, trackless train express with a dedicated driver, 40’ obstacle course, live DJ, food trucks and much more! Get your wristbands here: https://huntvalleypta.givebacks.com/store/items/1101227

If you need anything, please reach out to President@huntvalleypta.org or info@huntvalleypta.org.

Sincerely,

BLUE STAR WELCOME WEEK: WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Every year, approximately 600,000 military families — or roughly 33% of the All-Volunteer Force — relocate. Most of these families move to new duty stations, while some transition out of the military and others transition in. Most of these moves take place during the summer, and only 41% of military families report they feel a sense of belonging in their local community.

Therefore, the Hunt Valley PTA, in partnership with the school, welcomes our new families to the community! This week is Blue Star Welcome Week, and we're asking for your help by filling out a quick survey on your local favorites—restaurants, playgrounds, pediatricians, hair stylists, and more.

Please take a moment to complete the local favorites survey (https://tinyurl.com/437cs9ja ) and share as many recommendations as you'd like. Your answers will be compiled into a "Community Favorites" guide for our new families to help them connect with the Hunt Valley area. THANK YOU!

SAVE THE DATE: Hunt Valley’s 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat on, Friday, October 25!
