- Calendar Spotlight: October
 Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on Wednesday, October 2. That day is an evening-only O day, and important events will not be held after school.
Thursday, October 3, is a holiday for all FCPS staff. Schools and offices will be closed.
Friday, October 4, is a teacher workday and there will be no school for students.
 Edison High School invites all families from our pyramid to their football game on October 4th. Before the game, future Edison Eagles will have the opportunity to participate in a fun run across the field. The evening will also include the annual Deck Bowl competition against Lewis High School, to honor Edison's late Coach Deck —a meaningful tradition for the Edison community.
Edison Pyramid Parents are invited to attend an optional Zoom session to learn about Family Life Education (FLE) lessons and materials.
Wednesday, October 23rd from 6:00-6:30 pm.

New to County Full-Time Referrals
Are you new to FCPS? Are you interested in referring your child in grades 3-8 for Full-Time Advanced Academics services? Full-Time referrals for the fall screening cycle are due Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Full-Time referrals for all other students are due no later than Sunday, December 15, 2024. Please visit the FCPS AAP site for helpful information regarding the continuum of services and the referral process. For more information about all of the AAP services we offer, please visit your child’s Schoology course and look in the Advanced Academics Folder for the AAP Fall Newsletter. Use your ParentVUE login credentials to access Schoology. If you have any questions, please contact our Advanced Academics Resource Teacher, Raechel Acosta, at rbacosta@fcps.edu.
Elementary Parent/Guardian Information Meeting
A parent information meeting focusing on the AAP levels of service and the Full-Time referral process will be held virtually on Monday, September 30th at 6PM. Our AART will provide information about levels of service and answer questions about the advanced academic continuum of services and the Full-Time screening process. You can access the virtual meeting on September 30th by clicking this link. This meeting will be recorded for those unable to attend. It's that time of year again—time for our annual Trunk or Treat event! Grab your costumes and your sweetest smiles, because on Friday, Oct. 25, our school parking lot will transform into a Halloween wonderland of treats, tricks, and fantastic fun!
👻 When: Friday, Oct. 25 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
👻 Where: Clermont ES Parking Lot
👻 Costumes: Optional but encouraged!
So, mark your calendars and join us for a night of frightful fun and community spirit.
We are looking for three trunks from each grade level. The PTA does purchase candy for this event but we are also kindly asking for candy donations, or other trinkets such as slap bracelets, squishies, spider rings, etc.

 Clermont PTA is hosting its first math night of the school year for grades K-2 on October 29th, from 5:30-7:00 pm! Registration is free!

Good attendance is an important life skill that will help students succeed in school and beyond.
When planning trips or family events, refer to the FCPS calendar and try to use weekends and school holidays. Every day of learning is a day toward success. Keep in mind that absences add up quickly. Students absent 10% of the school year (or just two days per month) are considered chronically absent.
When possible, schedule appointments for your child outside of school hours. If your child needs to miss school because of an illness or another reason, you must report the absence.

Join Lexia® Learning for a parent information night to learn how FCPS is using Lexia® Core5 and Lexia® PowerUp in classrooms across the district to support students' Literacy growth. Topics to be covered during this session include: What is Lexia Core5 and PowerUp and how do the programs support your student's individual learning needs? How does Lexia support teacher planning and instruction? Also included are extra tips for supporting your student.
