Principal's Message |
Greetings Tiger Families!
Every year, approximately 600,000 military-connected families relocate. Most of these families move to new duty stations, while some transition out of the military and others transition in. Most of these moves take place over the summer, and Fairfax County Public Schools is committed to ensuring our military families feel welcomed and a sense of belonging to their local community. September 21 – September 29 is Blue Star Welcome Week and it is an opportunity for our community to welcome our military-connected families and show them our appreciation for their service and sacrifices. Twain has over 80 military-connected students that we are fortunate to serve each and every day. We are proud of them, their families, and the service and sacrifice they make on behalf of our family. Two years ago we joined other FCPS schools by earning the designation of a “Virginia Distinguished Purple Star School” for our work in supporting military connected students. This is a recognition we are very proud of as we understand the importance of helping our military connected Tigers thrive during middle school.

From September 15 to October 15, FCPS recognizes and celebrates the histories and cultures of the members of our community who trace their heritage to Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. School Pictures
Good news! School pictures taken at Twain on September 9th are now available for parents/guardians to view and order online. Orders will be shipped directly to your home. Please check your email used for Parent Vue to access the login information for ordering. You will need your student's ID number to access the pictures. Information was also sent via your child’s HPE teacher through TalkingPoints. Picture make-ups will be held on October 23rd in the morning.
PTA Updates
Fall Tiger Night is Friday, September 27th!
Next week the popular Tiger Night Student Social will be held at school from 6pm – 8pm. The PTA is proud to host this Twain Student Only Event.

There is something for everyone! Advance tickets will be on sale during student lunches September 24th – 27th for $3. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5.
This event cannot happen without lots of help. Want to be in “the room where it happens”? Volunteer!
