October 9th is this year's official date for National Walk, Bike & Roll to School Day! Strap on that helmet and lace up your shoes, this is a day to celebrate being active and showing your school spirit.
Mrs. Marco will be welcoming students at Door 1!
Curtis Blues Assembly
Our students were treated to a musical morning on Wednesday with a Multicultural American Music Program.
Students had a chance to learn all about instruments, sing, ask questions and participate in writing a short blues song together.

Dogtown Happenings
One School, One Book: Fall 2024
This fall all Deer Park students are reading Dogtown by Katherine Applegate and Gennifer Choldenko. It is the heartwarming tale of a shelter dog that finds friendship in an unlikely place and learns to never give up hope. Students will be learning a little bit about what it’s like to be a shelter dog.
Many fun activities are accompanying the reading including sharing your own pet photos, Coins for Critters, a service project and donations.

In support of the FCPS goal of raising ethical and global citizens, Deer Park will be hosting a supply drive to collect needed items for the animals at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter. Your family can help by donating items, purchasing items off an Amazon wish list, or donating money to Coins for Critters. Shelter wish list here.
Immunization Clinics
Did you know you can check your child's immunization compliance and submit updates in SIS ParentVue. Or you can drop off your child's immunization record at the front office.
The Fairfax County Health Department provides immunizations for elementary students on early release Mondays free of charge - by appointment only.

The SIS ParentVue Account is the FCPS secure solution for accessing and updating your child's information, communicating with teachers, accessing electronic forms and permissions and seeing test results and report cards.

Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone.
If you pre-ordered food, please pick it up at concessions. If you missed the window, we will have concessions including hot dogs and pizza by the slice available. Free popcorn available as well!
