Message from Mrs. Durso

Hello Wolf Pack!

As we settle into the rhythm of this new school year, I am filled with a sense of joy and gratitude. Our students and staff have embraced the learning environment with enthusiasm and a positive spirit. The energy and excitement that fill our hallways are truly inspiring.

Early Release Monday - September 23

Monday, September 23rd is our first Early Release Monday! All families have received confirmation emails about their student's supervision needs for this early release date. We have a 100% response rate - way to go!

Our students will starting Monday with a Pep Rally and will get their new Oak Hill Wolf Pack t-shirts - thank you, PTA!! Due to the three-hour early release, we will NOT be having specials (PE, Music, Chinese, Art, etc.) this day. To ensure equitable access to specials, Monday specials will occur on Thursday September 26. Be on the lookout for more communication from your child's teachers about this schedule change.

Kiss & Ride Safety

I want to remind everyone about the importance of safety at our Kiss and Ride area. Please ensure that students can independently exit the car. No adults should be getting out of cars. If you child needs assistance, please park your car and support your child. Let's be mindful of others and maintain a courteous atmosphere. Additionally, I encourage everyone to be kind and considerate to our staff, who are working tirelessly to provide a safe transition for your children.

Scoop Night!

Tonight is Scoop Night at Baskin-Robbins! Join us for a fun evening of ice cream and community. Our staff will be on hand to scoop and serve delicious treats while raising funds for our school. It's a great opportunity to socialize with other families and support our school.

In partnership,

Kelly Durso, Principal

Cali Loewenberg, Assistant Principal

Blue Star Welcome Week- September 21-29

Blue Star Welcome Week is a nationwide initiative to ensure military families feel a sense of belonging to their school communities. Fairfax County Public Schools will be intentionally celebrating and acknowledging Blue Star Welcome Week.

Blue Star Welcome Week is an opportunity to empower military families to thrive as they serve. There are approximately 13,500 military-connected students enrolled in FCPS. Each year, one-third of our military families transition into or out of our district. Blue Star Welcome Week gives schools an opportunity to welcome and connect with their military families. The goal is to create a sense of belonging and ensure that our military families feel celebrated and welcomed into their school communities.

On Friday, September 27, Oak Hill Military-Connected Students are invited to a Popsicles with the Principals, where they will be able to connect with other military children.  Those students will be receiving their invitations in the coming week.
