Principal's Message
Dear Terraset Families,
We have had a “roaring” September so far! Last Wednesday, we welcomed families for Back To School Night. It was so wonderful for parents and caregivers to meet their child/ren’s teachers and learn about the outstanding instruction happening this year. If you were unable to join us in person, we missed you and have the recording of school wide information and individual grade level slides available for you below. On Friday, we celebrated South Lakes High School Homecoming by proudly representing Terraset with our “sea of orange” in the parade. We were yet again in awe of the incredible school spirit of our community- thank you!
Additionally, as we recognize Attendance Awareness Month, we want to share our current chronic absenteeism rate. We are currently at 12.4%, which is up from the end of last year. Our goal is to stay below 10% all year. Every day that we partner together to keep chronic absenteeism down, we provide all Tigers with the environment to succeed.
Finally, please mark your calendars for next Monday, September 23rd as a 3 hour early release day. See the link below or call the main office at 703-390-5600 if you have not told us your child/ren’s dismissal plan(s). We need responses for every child. When you have made your decision, please do not change it unless there is a dire emergency. It will be very difficult to navigate dismissal changes on that day. Our priority is to get every Tiger home safely at the correct time.
Thank you for your continued support, partnership, and enthusiasm. Together we will ensure this year continues to be outstanding for every Tiger.
Warmly,
Katie Aldridge, Principal
Dave Ickowski, Assistant Principal

🚲October 9 Is Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day
Terraset will be participating in Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day on Wednesday, October 9. Make sure that your child wears a helmet if biking or riding, and that younger students have an adult with them. Be safe–use sidewalks and crosswalks to get to school. Get together with your neighbors and walk or bike together! Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day helps encourage physical activity and promote safe routes to school. We will meet at Door 5 for giveaways and we will take a picture with an administrator at 9:10.
