SENIOR IMMUNIZATIONS

Per the Code of Virginia, § 23.1-800, “prior to enrollment for the first time in any baccalaureate public institution of higher education, each full-time student shall be vaccinated against meningococcal disease and hepatitis B unless the student or, if the student is a minor, the student's parent or legal guardian signs a written waiver stating that he has received and reviewed detailed information on the risks associated with meningococcal disease and hepatitis B and the availability and effectiveness of any vaccine and has chosen not to be or not to have the student vaccinated.”  For more information on FCPS requirements, click here.  Virginia Department of Health information can be found here.

Fall Immunization Clinic on November 11th

Madison and the Fairfax County Health Department are offering an immunization clinic for Madison students needing updates to the required immunizations. Find out more about which immunizations will be offered at this clinic and how you can give parental consent for your child to participate. Find out more about the immunizations required for K-12 students to attend public school in Virginia. You can check your child’s immunization compliance and submit immunization information by accessing SIS ParentVUE

Please check with your family's health care provider to make sure your child is up to date on required immunizations for the 2024-25 school year. If your child needs a vaccine to complete their records, make an appointment with your healthcare provider, visit the Fairfax County Health Department website for a list of child immunization clinics, or access other local services. Be wise and immunize!

Parent Volunteer Opportunity

October 16 and October 18 to assist with our Hearing & Vision Screenings for 10th graders. Please reach out to our School Public Health Nurse, Hope Luong at hluong1@fcps.edu. Volunteers are needed between the hours of 8:00-2:00. Any block of time is appreciated.

World Languages Credit By Exam

Registration for the World Languages Credit By Exam (WLCBE) is open until October 4th.. Information about the WLCBE can be found on the FCPS website.

Pass Fail Grading Option

per Regulation 2436 students are permitted to take one non-core course with a pass-fail option (P/F). Please have interested students discuss with their school counselor and classroom teacher. The deadline for this option is September 19.
