Check out our interactive display outside the office. Our staff have shared their hopes & dreams for Fort Hunt students this year. And they included a photo from when they were in elementary school as a connection for students to see that they were once kids, too. Enjoy!

A Message from Ms. Consolla
It was so great to see families at Back to School Night on Wednesday. While it was a long day for teachers, they appreciated the time to build their partnership with parents. Our PTA shared the many ways families can support and be engaged. If you missed it, check out the PTA website .
As the school year progresses, students are wrapping up their first units in core content areas and taking beginning-of-the-year assessments such at iReady and VALLS in the primary grades. Across all grade levels, students are showing what they know, and teachers are learning about their students so they can plan the best instruction for your children.
In the coming weeks, teachers will begin scheduling parent-teacher conferences. These important meetings provide an opportunity for families to connect with their child's teachers and discuss academic and social progress. Participating in these conferences is a great way for you to learn about how you can support your child in school and to build a partnership with your child's teacher. Teachers will be able to offer both Zoom and in-person conferences.
As always, if you have questions or concerns before the conference, please continue to reach out to your child's teacher.
Thank you for another wonderful week of school, and have a fabulous weekend!

Principal

2024 Student Rights and Responsibilities
FCPS’ Student Rights and Responsibilities document (SR&R) explains expectations for student behavior and adult responses to enhance school safety and to create a fair, equitable, and supportive school environment. Read Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid’s letter to families regarding the SR&R.
Parents/caregivers should talk to their child(ren) about expectations for this school year. Also, please log in to SIS ParentVUE and sign to acknowledge your review of the SR&R, or sign and return the signature sheet to your child’s school by Monday, September 30.
You can submit questions online regarding the SR&R.
🤒 When a Student Should Stay Home From School
Whether students miss school because of illness or any other reason, missing school leads to learning loss.
Help your child succeed by encouraging them to attend as many days as possible, but do make sure your child stays home if they are sick. Visit the FCPS website for information on when to keep your child at home.
If your child has a chronic illness, make sure to notify us at Fort Hunt so that assistance can be provided if needed. Keep an open line of communication with our school's public health nurse, Ms. Nikki Somerville.
Read about how families can help form good attendance habits. Attend today, achieve tomorrow!
Save the Date: Veterans' Day Celebration & Luncheon
