Principal's Message

Dear Terraset Families,

We need your help!  If you have not yet filled out THIS SURVEY, for our 3 hour early release on September 23rd, please do so as soon as possible.  We expect students to follow their regular routes home.   During this time, our instructional staff will be involved in professional development, so it’s crucial that we have an accurate count of families the require supervision due to hardship to plan accordingly.

Warmly,

Katie Aldridge, Principal

Dave Ickowski, Assistant Principal

🎒Early-Release Mondays

FCPS has designated seven Mondays throughout the year as 3 hour early release days:  September 23, October 28, December 9 (new date to replace November 25), February 24, March 17, April 28, and May 19.

As we approach the first date, we expect our Tigers to follow their regular routes home.  To ensure their safety please complete this survey for each child as soon as possible, if you have not already done so.  Students that require supervision due to hardship will be supervised by staff to complete homework, STMath, Lexia, MyOn, independent reading, and other similar tasks.  Teachers will be involved in required professional development and will not be working with students during this time.  Your response(s) is essential in helping us move forward smoothly.

🎉South Lakes High School Homecoming Parade & Spirit Week

Participating in the SLHS Homecoming Parade is a Terraset tradition and we’re excited to continue it this year! The parade starts from the Hunters Woods Shopping Center on September 13 at 5:00 pm, so meet us there around 4:30 if you plan to join the Terraset “sea of orange.” Be aware that roads around the shopping center will begin closing to vehicles prior to the parade start.

If you don’t want to walk the entire parade, you can still help Terraset show our spirit! Meet up with other Terraset families on the corner of Soapstone and South Lakes Drive, wear your Terraset colors, and cheer loud when Terraset walks by. You can also start out there and jump right in to the parade when we are passing by, so our Terraset presence will be even stronger as we finish the parade at South Lakes High School.

Please remember this is NOT a drop-off event and all students participating are the responsibility of their accompanying grown-up.

Even if you can’t make it to the parade, you can enjoy the festivities by participating in Spirit Days throughout next week. See below for a list, and the flyer that went home today for more details.

Wednesday Sept 11 – Grade Level Color Day (K: Orange, 1: Green, 2: Red, 3:Purple, 4: Yellow, 5: Blue, 6: Black)

Thursday Sept 12 – PJ and Stuffie Day (Wear PJs and/or bring your favorite stuffie)

Friday Sept 13 – Terraset Spirit Day (Wear orange and black or Terraset spirit gear)
