September 11th National Day of Service
- With the upcoming 23rd anniversary of September 11, FCPS acknowledges the loss of life, the heroism of our first responders, and the resilience of our country. The September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, also called Patriot Day, is a chance to reflect and act in service to others to honor those who were injured or killed in the terrorist attacks.
All FCPS students are encouraged to participate in service learning as it supports Portrait of a Graduate (POG) attributes and social and emotional learning (SEL) skills. Middle and high school students can learn more about service learning by logging into their Naviance account to access x2VOL.
September is Attendance Awareness Month
Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow! The beginning of the school year is the best time to develop strong attendance habits! Students who attend school regularly are more likely to perform well in reading and math, develop strong social and emotional skills, and graduate from high school on time. Help prepare your child for future success. Visit FCPS’ Attendance web page for tips and strategies.
October 9th PSAT/SAT Testing Day
All high schools will administer the PSAT and SAT on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Standard PSAT/NMSQT and SAT school day testing requires approximately three hours to administer. A two-hour early release is scheduled for all high school and secondary school students on PSAT/SAT Day to provide staff development or to allow teacher-directed time.
High school academy courses will not be held on October 9, 2024, and all high school shuttles are canceled for the day. High school academy staff will support based school activities.
Afternoon Solutions
Afternoon Solutions is coming back starting September 16! Afternoon Solutions is an opportunity for high school students to stay after on Mondays and get help from teachers on homework or assignments, studying for tests, time management, organization, and more. Stay tuned for additional information.

Social Worker Spotlight
Welcome to Robinson and the Social Work Spotlight!
What is Social Work Spotlight? We will be highlighting anything and all social work related information…an inspirational story, a good book, resources in the community, special events...sometimes, just a great quote for the week!
What does your school social worker do? We provide support to children and families in the areas of mental health, accessing community resources, basic needs, and special education. We partner with our school teams and counselors to ensure all students are achieving their full academic, social and emotional potential.
Who are your school social workers?

My name is Christyn Levy and this is my 11th year working as a school social worker and at Robinson! I have been working as a social worker with children and families for 20 years. I attended University of Tampa and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. I completed my Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Washington. I spent the early part of my career working with youth and young adults in emergency homeless shelters, short-term residential programs, and a children’s hospital. I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I relocated to Northern Virginia in 2008 to be closer to family! In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids taking road trips, playing board games, camping, being outside, and playing a lot of pickleball.

My name is Beth Lonergan and this is my first year working at Robinson High School in a part-time position. I will be here on Mondays and Wednesdays and am looking forward to working with the Robinson community. I also work in an elementary school (Deer Park). I’ve worked in FCPS for over 20 years, but part of that time was as a third grade teacher at White Oaks ES. Before moving over to the schools, I worked with Child Protective Services here in Fairfax County. I received my Bachelors in Social Work from JMU (Go Dukes) and my Masters in Social Work from Boston College. I also have a Masters in Education from Marymount University. My two sons graduated from Fairfax High School and are in college – one is at Penn State and the other just started at The University of Delaware. My husband and I are just starting to get used to being empty nesters – but we like to travel, cook and take walks with our dog, Scout. |
2024-25 Student Rights and Responsibilities
FCPS’ Student Rights and Responsibilities document (SR&R) explains expectations for student behavior and adult responses to enhance school safety and to create a fair, equitable, and supportive school environment. Read Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid’s letter to families regarding the SR&R.
Parents/caregivers should talk to their child(ren) about expectations for this school year. Also, please log in to SIS ParentVUE and sign to acknowledge your review of the SR&R, or sign and return the signature sheet to your child’s school by Monday, September 30.
You can submit questions online regarding the SR&R.
