Students at Chantilly Academy frequently have the opportunity to hear from industry experts in their classroom. Guest speakers enhance student learning by sharing their real-world experiences, which students can connect to the concepts they learn in the classroom. This week, Detective Goode and Detective Javaid from the Fairfax County Police Department visited our Criminal Justice classes to provide insight into their roles on the police force and what it takes to become a FCPD Officer. In addition to providing an engaging and interactive presentation, Det. Goode and Det. Javaid took several questions from our students who were eager to learn more about their experiences in law enforcement.
Pharmacy Tech 1 students began learning to fill prescriptions this week.
In Auto Collision, a student works on repairing a dent in the quarter panel of a vehicle.
Students in our Carpentry program are putting the finishing touches on a shed that will be used as extra storage for our Culinary Arts program. We love to see our students using their skills and talents to support other Academy programs!
Culinary Arts students prepared hand-cut fries in the kitchen this week.
Important Reminder: As Chantilly Academy students arrive from feeder schools for class, it is instructional time at Chantilly High School. We ask that all Academy students put their cell phones in their backpack prior to entering the building for your Academy class. Our cell phone policy takes effect when you enter the building, including in the hallways.
Chantilly Academy courses offer students with unique, exciting, and hands-on opportunities to learn, collaborate, and connect that they will not want to miss! In order to maximize instructional time and minimize distractions, Chantilly Academy will be following the FCPS School Board Cell Phone Policy that was adopted at its meeting on May 9, 2024. Consequences (detailed in the graphic below) for cell phone use went into effect on Tuesday, September 3.
Please see below for more information about Chantilly Academy's Cell Phone Policy. You can find more information on FCPS' cell phone policy webpage.
