Dear Haycock Families,
We had another busy and fun week. Dr. Reid, FCPS Superintendent, visited Haycock on Tuesday. Our student SCA officers did a great job of welcoming her. We were proud to show her around and share the many terrific things that are happening at our school.
Please note that the first three hour release Monday is coming up on 9/23. Many thanks to all the families that have indicated the plan for their student on those early release Mondays.
This week, we will be emailing all families that did not respond to the survey sent out by FCPS or who indicated on that survey that they were unsure of their plans. If you receive this email from us, please respond to the embedded survey immediately. We are working hard to ensure that we know the plan for every one of our students.
For those who did respond to the survey, we will also email you with what we understand is the plan for your student. If that is correct, there is no need to respond. If a change needs to be made, please follow the instructions in the email about how to make that change.
For students that we do not hear back from parents about, we will assume that they are going home at 1:05 in their usual manner. The buses will make their runs at the 1:05 dismissal time and return at the 4:05 regular dismissal time for any bus riders remaining.
Finally, please note that immunization records must be up to date for all students by September 30. See information and further details below.
With appreciation for your partnership,
Liz Beaty, Principal embeaty@fcps.edu
Heather Boyd, AP HABoyd@fcps.edu
Krystal Styles, AP krstyles@fcps.edu

The September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, also called Patriot Day, is a chance to reflect and act in service to others to honor those who were injured or killed in the terrorist attacks.
All FCPS students are encouraged to participate in service learning as it supports Portrait of a Graduate (POG) attributes and social and emotional learning (SEL) skills.

Immunization Updates- September 30 Deadline
🩹 Immunization Requirements
Please check with your health care provider as soon as possible to make sure your child is up to date on the immunizations required by the state of Virginia. Starting Monday, September 30, students who have not provided proof of immunization will not be allowed to attend school.
You may check your child’s immunization compliance and submit their immunization record in SIS ParentVUE. Records may also be delivered to your school’s front office.
Alternative immunization documents (below) may also be provided to your school’s front office, but they may not be uploaded in ParentVUE:
- A health care provider’s written statement specifying all administered immunizations.
- A health care provider’s written statement of a permanent or temporary medical exemption.
- A notarized Religious Exemption form objecting to the administration of immunizations due to conflicts with their religious tenets or practices.
Find more information on immunizations.
Kiss and Ride Safety Reminders
We ask that you not park when you come through the Kiss and Ride line. It backs up the line and puts students in unsafe situations to be crossing through the car line. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
The staff members who assist in the Kiss and Ride line are working to keep all our students safe, and we ask you to remember that and extend them grace and understanding.
Help at Haycock as a Student Monitor
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on our students and school community? We’re looking for a dedicated parent or community member to join us as a Student Monitor. In this important role, you’ll help create a safe, orderly, and supportive environment for our students throughout the school day.
Role Overview: As a Student Monitor, you’ll be paid hourly to supervise students in classrooms, hallways, lunch areas, recess, specials, and during arrival/dismissal. This is a wonderful chance to connect with students, supporting their success and well-being both individually and in small groups.
How to Apply: If you’re interested in contributing to our school community in this meaningful way, please email Krystal Styles, AP, at krstyles@fcps.edu, to set up an interview.
We look forward to welcoming you to our team!
Please see this additional information about the SEL Screener and other family resources from our counselors.
