Franklin Families-
The Franklin staff thoroughly enjoyed connecting with families during our Back To School Night presentation this past Wednesday. It was great to be able to share with all of you the amazing things that are happening at Franklin. I was happy to hear from so many of you how much your student is enjoying their classes and teachers. If you were unable to attend, please take a few minutes to watch our introductory video to meet members of the leadership team.
Back to School night is a great way to establish relationships between our school and community, but it doesn't stop there! Please be on the lookout for communication from your teachers and staff via the Talking Points app as well as announcements regarding our upcoming parent coffee events.
Lastly, I wanted to share expectations moving forward regarding middle schoolers attendance at Chantilly High School sporting events. Middle School students must be accompanied to any sporting event by a supervising, paying adult. Additionally, spectators are not permitted to bring backpack or water bottles. We are all part of the larger Charger community, and CHS welcomes middle school attendees at games, as long as they are accompanied by an adult. Please help us maintain order and provide a supportive environment for all fans by following this expectation.
Thank you for your continued support and please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Tom DeRusso
Principal

September 11 National Day of Service
With the upcoming 23rd anniversary of September 11, FCPS acknowledges the loss of life, the heroism of our first responders, and the resilience of our country. The September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, also called Patriot Day, is a chance to reflect and act in service to others to honor those who were injured or killed in the terrorist attacks.
All FCPS students are encouraged to participate in service learning as it supports Portrait of a Graduate (POG) attributes and social and emotional learning (SEL) skills. Middle and high school students can learn more about service learning by logging into their Naviance account to access x2VOL.
