Greenbriar West Elementary families,
The day is here! You can now sign up for our Greenbriar West Fun Run! Our goal is to raise $15,000 for 3 assemblies for the year, a water filtration system for the hallway, soccer goals, and field trip assistance. Signing up is easy and free!

Advanced Academics
We invite you to attend a parent information session on Tuesday, September 24th, from 6:00-7:00 PM in the school gym. This meeting will cover the continuum of advanced academic services available in FCPS, as well as details about the full-time screening process.
This session is particularly relevant for parents of second graders and those new to the county, providing a valuable opportunity to understand the advanced academic options and how they may apply to students identified as needing them. We encourage all interested parents to attend for a clearer understanding of these educational services.
Picture DAY!!
Thursday, September 19
Online purchasing is available and encouraged and it’s quick and easy! To place your order, click on the following link below and enter the ID:

Paper order forms with the same purchasing information will also be coming home next week in your student(s) Thursday Folders. Picture packets must be purchased prior to picture day.

Attendance Reporting
Report attendance using one of the methods below:
When reporting a student's absence, please include the following information:
- the date(s) when the student will be absent
- the student’s first and last name
- the student’s teacher and grade level
- the reason for the absence (please be specific- if reporting an ill student, include symptoms, especially if they have a fever, nausea, vomiting, sore throat, and/or cough. If your student has a diagnosis from a healthcare provider, please include that information)
Continue to use one of the methods below to report a student's late arrival, early checkout/dismissal or update an already submitted attendance.

Early Release Mondays
Fairfax County Public Schools has planned seven early release Mondays starting in September. Please note the dates and times for your calendars listed below.
Greenbriar West will dismiss at 12:55 PM on the following days:
- September 23
- October 28
- November 25
- February 24
- March 17
- April 28
- May 19
