Navy Update - 8.25.24

Dear Navy Families,

What an amazing first week of school it was!  Our staff were so excited to have the building full of students and the joy was felt in every corner of Navy Elementary!

Week 1

Thank You, Kelly!

We wanted to share that Friday, August 23rd, was the last day for our amazing Student Information Assistant, Kelly Milroy, here at Navy. After four wonderful years with us, she has decided to leave FCPS to work closer to home and spend more time with her adorable grandson.

Kelly has been an invaluable member of our Navy community since she joined the front office. Her quick learning, ability to connect with everyone around her,  attentive listening, and joyful spirit have made her a tremendous pillar in our school. Kelly loved sharing updates about her family and was always able to make everyone around her feel like family.

While we will greatly miss her at Navy ES,  we are excited for her as she embarks on this new chapter of her life. We hope she enjoys every moment of this next journey, filled with family time and new opportunities.

We are in the process of hiring/finalizing hiring our new SIA.   We will update you as soon as this new Navy member joins us!  In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

🔍 Lightspeed Parent Report on Child’s Device Activity

FCPS has tools to help parents know more about their child’s activity on any FCPS device. These tools are provided at no cost to families by Lightspeed, the school division’s internet content filtering service.

Parents may sign up for a weekly Parent Report, which will provide a list of the top sites their child visited. The report also offers parents the ability to sign up for free access to the Internet Use Parent Portal. Through the portal, parents may pause their child’s access to the internet on their FCPS device during non-school hours.
