Goodies with Grandparents

National Grandparents Day is September 8, 2024. We would like to invite grandparents of our Seahawks to school on Friday, September 6 from 2:30-3:30pm for Goodies with Grandparents. This will be when where grandma or grandpa can enjoy a few goodies, engage in a craft, and read a book to their grandchild. Please access this Google form to sign up. We need to have all RSVPs in by September 1, to help ensure we have adequate materials for all.

Seahawk Support

We look forward to providing several opportunities for parents to volunteer; please access our Seahawk Support Google form to select how you would like to support (i.e. art gala, art room, book room, garden club, library, lost and found, strategies lab, Wednesday folders). Please complete the form by September 9 and we will begin our Seahawk Support program in late September, with the exception of Strategies Lab which will start a little earlier.

Health Room

Parents we have noticed that fever and sore throat illnesses have emerged. Please leave your child at home when they are sick until they are fever free for 24 hours without medication. Please encourage frequent hand washing while home and at school.

It's time to join the Parent Teacher Organization!

BONUS: Everyone who joins the PTO before Sept. 20 will be entered into a drawing to win 2 spirit wear t-shirts OR a Family Pizza Pack for our September 27 outdoor movie night block party. Ten winners will be selected!

Also, make sure you're following the Silverbrook PTO Facebook Page to get updates on events, volunteering opportunities, and more.

Interested in Band or Strings?

If your child is interested in being in the BAND or STRINGS program at Silverbrook this year, simply click here to sign up. Or scan the QR code.

This morning, we were so excited to hear the South County High School Symphonic Band and Chamber Orchestra demonstrate all the instruments offered in the Band and Strings program here at Silverbrook ES. The students played solos and then all came together to play familiar tunes. 😊It was super fun for everyone.

If your child was absent and missed the demonstration, no worries. We will be having a South County Petting Zoo at South County High School.

Instrument Petting Zoo for Band or Strings Information:

The Annual South County Instrument Petting Zoo will be Tuesday, August 27 from 6:30pm – 8:00pm. Please mark your calendars! This activity is optional. You can come anytime during the time specified. This activity will allow your child the opportunity to try ANY instrument they want.

This event will provide more information on band and string instruments, instrument rentals, private lessons, and student led performances. The petting zoo is hosted by South County High School and will be held in the high school cafeteria. Petting Zoo Flyer - CLICK HERE for more information about this event.

If you’d like more information on our Band and Strings program at Silverbrook, please don’t hesitate to email me at the email address below.
